Another stab at the local economy
TAMPA - More Bay Area jobs are going to India. Accounting and consulting company PriceWaterhouseCoopers is slashing hundreds of local jobs.
In all, 500 jobs will be eliminated in Tampa. Many of the positions are being moved overseas and will be taken over by a company in India.
The bulk of the cuts are technology employees.
PWC says the cuts are part of a larger nationwide plan.
This is the second time PWC has cut jobs in Florida. Earlier this year, the firm cut back its tax practice in Orlando.
