A former art auction show host of the Dish Network was given a sentence of five years in federal prison by Los Angeles District Judge Gary A. Feess on Wednesday for his participation in an art-selling scam. James Mobley, 63, was an auctioneer for the Dish Network show of Fine Art Treasures Gallery that conducted the sale of fake art work. He earlier pleaded guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, and interstate transportation of stolen property, and one felony count of willful failure to file a tax return. The Fine Art Treasures Gallery aired its art auction show on DirectTV and Dish Network every Friday and Saturday, and sold more than $20 million worth of art pieces to 10,000 clients nationwide. The owners of the art company, Gerald Sullivan, 54, and his wife Kristine Eubanks, 52, had pleaded guilty to the same charges earlier this year. Judge Freess sentenced them to four years and seven years in prison, respectively. Federal agents have taken control of the company’s bank accounts and assets and are in the process of notifying unsuspecting viewers and clients of the former show of the Dish Network.
