W3B Satellite Launch Postponed
Eutelsat has just confirmed the postponement of its W3B satellite, originally scheduled for September 15.
Final tests are being conducted on the premises of Thales Alenia (satellite manufacturer) in the French city of Cannes, and this is the cause for delay.
Eutelsat has now developed a new calendar in which the satellite W3B must be shipped to Kourou (French Guiana) during the month of September to be released possibly in late October.
This will cause the entry into service in the position 16 degrees East will take effect later this year.
This satellite will be used to distribute TV, Radio and Internet for Central Europe, North Africa, Middle East and Indian Ocean islands.
